After you’ve entered your invoices, when you navigate to the Products tab in the left sidebar, this is what you’ll see:
Each of your products is listed there, with its associated costs auto-populated based on the data from your invoices. This is useful when you want to view the costs associated with a particular product, vs. in your business as a whole. Cool!
If you want to see the specific costs associated with each product, click on the product name. You’ll be taken to the Product Overview; click ‘Costs’ to view your itemized costs over time as well as your per-product totals.
From here, you can sort by date, invoice #, units ordered, etc.
Okay—back to the dashboard for a sec. :)
From your dashboard, the $ Costs tab is basically a database of every single cost that you’ve ever included. If you DON’T want certain costs included—maybe you have some design fees that don’t need to be included here, or maybe you only want to see your costs for 2020—here’s how to exclude them.
Easy peasy. Go back to Products > click a specific product > COSTS. Scroll over to the right, and check the ‘Exclude’ box.
Now when you go back into the Costs tab, you’ll see a strikethrough across those items, and they won’t be included in your total costs at the top. High fives!
These items will remain X’d out until you un-check the ‘Exclude’ box. So, you can go back into those products and customize which data is feeding into your costs depending on what it is you want to see.
